A study for the site previously conceived for a mixed-use format, which has evolved into a series of 18 townhouses in a mews configuration. The units of Driftwood Townhouses average 1200 ft2 with a lower space currently designated for vehicle use but ready for expansion as car use decreases. The upper levels establish public space with the second level offering a flexible plan allowing dining and living to be interchanged. The upper levels boast two or three room configurations with partial views to the Marina and mountains.
The project’s slope suggests an echoing geometry on the asymmetrical pitch of the units as well as referencing the hills to the north, evoking a sawtooth cadence. Panelized cladding incorporating the coastal colours of the region further allude to local topography.
