Rafael Santa Ana Architect AIBC AAA OAA MRAIC

As founder and principal of RSAAW, Rafael brings to his practice over 20 years of experience in the industry. His enthuthiasm and commitment to excellence in the field is evidenced throughout his work in the private and public realm. His work for leading firms in both Manitoba and British Columbia has given Rafael a thorough understanding of the Canadian construction industry, forming a solid foundation on which to build his forward-looking practice. Rafael founded RSAAW on the principles of inherent sustainability, innovation in technology and outlook, and respect for place and people, and is involved in all aspects of projects at RSAAW.

Rafael is an active volunteer for the Architectural Institute of BC Internship Program as well as for various academic and cultural programs in Vancouver.

Antonio Colin BArch
Associate Principal

Antonio brings over 20 years of experience in the architectural and design field in Mexico and Canada to his work with RSAAW, including over a decade working for a leading Vancouver architectural firm where he has played an influential role in many hospitality, educational, and recreational projects.

Antonio offers an unswerving eye for detail, excellent organizational skills, and a deep commitment to client relations. He has a particular talent for the analysis of project proformas, working with clients to maximize efficiency in construction and profitability. 


Allie Shiell BLA MArch MSc Construction
Project Lead

Allie formally trained in Canada and the U.K. and has over two decades of experience on built projects throughout Europe and Canada. In 2017, she returned to Whistler to open her own Landscape and Building Design Practice with a focus on single family home projects in Pemberton, Whistler, and throughout the Sea to Sky corridor.


Marina Rosa MScArch Brazil
Project Lead

As an internationally trained architect, Marina has 12 years of experience ranging from large scale public projects to residential and interior design. Previously, she worked as an architectural designer in Canada and as a senior architect in Spain and Brazil.

Marina holds a Master’s degree in Architectural Technology, a Postgraduate Diploma in Civil Construction and a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and Urban Design from the University of Sao Paulo. Her education also includes one year at the MSc Architecture, Urbanism and Building Sciences programme at Delft University of Technology in The Netherlands.


Duncan Bath BSc UK
Project Lead

An import from the UK where he studied at the University of Bath, Duncan aims to produce designs which respond sensitively to the particular environmental and social challenges of a project with a focus in urban scales.

Committed to fully integrated designs, Duncan works closely with consultants and the rest of the design team to ensure that the original design intent is realized while being facilitated and augmented by the technical requirements of the project. Previous experiences on projects located both in the UK and globally have led him to appreciate the need for a tailored approach which takes note of the specific challenges presented by each job.


Fernanda Cinquetti BArchPlan
Project Lead

Global working experience with medium and large architectural design  including residential, mixed-use complexes, retail centres and corporate projects. Prior to joining RSAAW, Fernanda brings 10 years of experience working as an architectural designer in Australia and the UK and as a project lead in Brazil and Germany.

Focused on project management, Fernanda believes an architectural project is the combination of design intention, technical requirements, and client and consultant relations. She is passionated about cultures and how it translates to different architectural solutions.


Verónica Omonte MArch Spain
Project Lead (on leave)

From a Spanish and Bolivian background, Verónica moved to Canada after finishing her architecture studies in Barcelona and Rome. Prior joining RSAAW she had 6 years of experience working in mixed used large scale projects located in Vancouver, Burnaby and Seattle.

Verónica is passionate about cities and people and enjoys every scale of a project, from urban design to details. She is currently working on both residential and commercial projects and is always in search of exchange of communication as a tool of interaction.


Ondřej Čáp MArch

Ondřej graduated from the Faculty of Architecture at the Czech Technical University in Prague with a Masters of Architecture.

Ondřej has adapted well to vastly different environments, having spent time studying in Taiwan and as an intern at Ren Ito architecture studio in Portugal. Ondřej moved to Vancouver in the summer of 2018 with a keen interest in experiencing building design of the West Coast.


Diego Chouza BArch Sci

Diego brings a background in architectural science with a degree from the British Columbia Institute of Technology, where hehad the opportunity to participate in studies at the University of Ferrara in Italy. During his studies, he developed a keen interest in sustainable design practices, and aims to deliver projects with a holistic approach to integrated design.

As a designer in the firm, Diego has participated in various phases of project delivery for residential and commercial projects. He has a particular interest in institutional architecture, and the positive impact quality design can have on a building’s occupants.


Daniela Gutiérrez BArch

With a bachelor degree in architecture from the National Autonomous University of Mexico, Daniela has filled the role of designer and project lead on an extensive range of projects.

Her pursuit to understand holistic wellness has driven her to explore and model spaces that fullfill the human balance between physical, emotional, cognitive and spiritual wellbeing. This commitment fuels Daniela’s designs in threading human beings to their environment.

Edgar Hernández BArch

Three years ago, Edgar graduated from the the Max Cetto Workshop within the Faculty of Architecture from the National Autonomous University of Mexico. His curiosity in the connection between architecture, humans, and geography led him to study one year of exchange in Chile at Finis Terrae University and Arturo Prat University.

Since his time as a university student, he has worked in the area of bonding and special projects at his university and in architectural restoration projects.


Clarence Ku MArch

Clarence has graduated from the MArch programme at the University of Hong Kong following his education in London and Copenhagen. In his professional career, Clarence has completed projects in both rural and urban contexts.

With international academic and practical experiences, Clarence believes that spatial perception is a language commonly understood through the domain of architecture.


Carolina Luckie BArch

Graduating with a bachelor's degree in architecture from the Universidad Iberoamericana Campus Mexico City, Carolina’s career started in started in 2013. After collaborating with varying commercial and high- end residential architectural firms, she moved to Vancouver in 2018. Since, she has gained experience in Canadian industrial, commercial, and residential building typologies.


Andrei Rizea BEnvD MSc  

With a Bachelor of Environmental Design at the University of British Columbia, Master of Science in Sustainable Architecture and Landscape Design at the Politecnico di Milano, and a LEED Green Associate certification, Andrei’s designs reflect the interactive synergies between architecture, landscape architecture, and urban design.

His experiences in Italy and Vancouver helped compliment his design approach through both a local and international lens pertaining to the theoretical and business aspect of the profession that binds it all together.

Jorge Urbina BArch

Jorge studied architecture at Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) with an exchange at the Universitat Politécnica de Catalunya (UPC) in Barcelona. After his studies, he worked for three years in architectural firms, contributing to all phases of the project, through conceptualization, architectural design, executive design, 3D modeling and visualization.

David Vaca BArch

David studied architecture at Tecnológico de Monterrey in Querétaro, Mexico. During his studies he participated in the 2015 Latin America and Caribbean Solar Decathlon, where he discovered a lasting passion for sustainability and energy efficiency.

Before joining RSAAW David worked in Mexico and Ecuador on residential and mixed-used buildings.

Luis Zamora BArch

Luis graduated from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. With seven years of experience working in residential projects and interior design, Luis lends his talents to schematic design, visualization and enjoys working on all the phases of the project.

His background and experience in architectural design, photography, and art allows him to manage several projects from all points of view.

Raquel Damecour
Marketing Coordinator

Raquel coordinates promotions and communications for the workshop as well as marketing across all platforms.
Utilizing her background in corporate and freelance copywriting and public relations, she manages content and business relationships for proposals and publications.

Mirela Alika BFin MAS
Operations and Services Manager
Mirela Alika joins RSAAW with over 15 years of accounting experience and a masters in human resources.

Mirela’s ability to analyze data strategically and produce fact-based decisions results from her exceptional attention to detail. These skills help RSAAW host an organized, reliable, and efficient work environment.

Paola Méndez BArch
Operations and Services Manager

Paola graduated from the Universidad del Valle de México with a bachelors in architecture. With more than 15 years of experience in conceptualization, planning, administration, coordination and project execution, Paola specializes in commercial interior design.
