Located in Fort Alexandria in BC’s Fraser River terrain this development offers unparalleled living experience. Fort Alexandria symbolizes the resilience of early Canadian settlers and pioneers. Today Fort Alexandria offers a chance to experience raw early settlers’ life, this exciting new retreat connects guests with nature through a network of integrative trails. Each cabin is a testament to the beauty and simplicity, designed with clean lines that seamlessly blend into the natural tapestry of the riverbank.
This cabin is crafted into three distinct spaces. The Deck, Bedroom, and Washroom have been conceived to ensure comfort and luxury.
In the interest of sustainability and efficient building practices, two distinct construction methods have been considered: Traditional Framing Construction and Mass Timber Construction. Traditional Framing Construction is favoured for its logistical convenience, requiring no specialized labor, making it more cost-effective.
On the other hand, mass Timber Construction stands out for its superior structural performance and flexibility, eliciting the need for steel structures.
Year round thermal comfort for guests played an important part in the design of these cabins. Leveraging passive cooling techniques and optimizing airflow, our design strategy guarantees a comfortable and inventing atmosphere all year round.
Through these intentional design choices, we aim to offer a retreat that is not only a haven of comfort but also a celebration of local heritage and environmental stewardship.
