Let’s work together

In the north end of Vancouver's Yaletown District, Ignite Pizzeria's flagship location invites guests to experience an intimate yet casual dining experience within a chic and contemporary room.

Embracing the local urban lifestyle, the third location for the Ignite brand mixes modern city nightlife with the intimate experience of homemade cooking and handmade artisan pizza. In a post pandemic environment, a craving for palpable experiences has led to the popularity of more immersive, tactile interactions. RSAAW curated the Ignite Pizzeria Yaletown space to focus on the intensity of the stone fired oven and the process of creating hand-tossed pizza from scratch.

A mix of banquette and high-top seating populate the space, mirroring the contrast between the matte black two storey ceiling and contemporary white oak mezzanine. Groups of warm, linear, recessed lighting embedded in a wood slat ceiling above the service bar further enhance the lounge experience. A carefully designed horizontal circulation system ensures that the flow of operations between dine-in and takeout services is not disrupted by guest area and service staff area overlaps. The horizontally stretched program also offers dine-in guests access to the double-height windows overlooking the urban square outside regardless of their seating location, maximizing people watching from both without and within.

A flexible layout with communal tables and an open kitchen concept allows opportunities to interact with chefs and fellow diners. Through careful space planning and the use of thoughtful materials and tones, guests are invited into the hearth and warmth of the kitchen, evoking old world hospitality in a contemporary iteration. The space offers convivial, communal dining and an interactive and social space for friends and strangers alike to share.
